An IPTV box is a small streaming device that runs an IPTV player app and plugs into your TV's HDMI port. Before you buy one, check what you already own: a Fire TV Stick, an Android TV or Google TV set, an Apple TV, or a recent Samsung or LG smart TV already runs a player, and a phone, tablet or computer will too.

Setting up whatever you use
- Install a player app on the device — from its own app store where possible.→ The player opens and asks for a playlist or an Xtream Codes login.If it fails: On a Fire TV Stick with no store listing, use the Downloader route in /downloader-app-firestick/.
- Enter the login details from your trial or subscription.→ Channels and the EPG guide load. /xtream-codes-setup/ shows which field is which.
- Test at your normal viewing hour before you commit.→ Smooth playback on the device you will keep using. If it stutters, /iptv-buffering/ works through the causes in order.
Do you need an IPTV box at all?
Usually not. An IPTV subscription is software plus a login: anything that can install a player app and decode video will do. A dedicated box is worth buying when your TV is old enough to have no app store, when its built-in apps are too slow to be pleasant, or when you want a wired Ethernet port that a stick does not give you.

- A phone, tablet, Windows PC or Mac also runs a player, and is the quickest way to test during a trial

- Do not buy a box that comes with channels pre-loaded — you are paying for hardware plus somebody else's subscription, and you cannot move it

What to look for if you do buy one
- An Ethernet port. A wired connection removes the most common cause of buffering on a busy evening.
- HEVC / H.265 decoding, so 4K streams play without stuttering
- At least 2 GB of RAM, so a player with a large channel list and guide stays responsive
- An app store you can install from — a box with no store means sideloading, which is more work every time an app updates
- A remote you will actually use; a box with a poor remote gets used less, whatever its specification

4KUSATV sells the subscription, not hardware, so no box price is quoted here — buy from a normal retailer at whatever they charge. The subscription itself starts at $15/mo for one connection, and the same login works on whichever device you choose.
Be cautious with any seller offering a box with a subscription already loaded. You cannot move that subscription to another device, and you have no direct relationship with whoever supplies it.
